Shreveport – The Shreveport Police Department is investigating two separate shooting incidents that occurred at the Lifestyle Apartments, raising concerns over safety in the area.
On Thursday, June 12, officers responded to reports of a shooting at approximately 10:52 p.m. within the 4200 block of Lakeshore Drive, where they discovered a woman dead inside an apartment. She had sustained a gunshot wound to the head. As of now, the police have not identified or apprehended any suspects related to this incident, and the investigation remains active.
In an unrelated shooting a few months later, on Monday, October 14, at around 4:32 p.m., officers were called again to the Lifestyle Apartments, this time located on Pines Road. The incident stemmed from an argument between two men, escalating to violence when one individual shot the other multiple times in the upper body. The victim from this October incident is currently reported to be in life-threatening condition.
Following thorough investigation efforts, authorities identified 23-year-old Jaylin Stewart as the shooter from the October incident. He was subsequently arrested and booked into the Shreveport City Jail. Stewart faces serious charges, which include one count of attempted second-degree murder and one count of aggravated assault with a firearm.
The Shreveport Police Department has urged anyone with information surrounding either of these shooting incidents to come forward and assist with the ongoing investigations. They can be reached at the department’s tip line, (318) 673-7300.
These recent incidents at the Lifestyle Apartments highlight the growing concern regarding gun violence within the community. Shreveport has experienced a spike in gun-related incidents over the past year, prompting local authorities to re-evaluate their strategies for maintaining public safety.
Authorities stress the importance of community involvement in reporting suspicious activity. Both cases are a reminder of the need for vigilance and communication among residents to help prevent further violence and ensure safety in their neighborhoods.
The Shreveport Police Department continues to work diligently on these investigations, seeking justice for the victims and reassurance for community members. As more information becomes available regarding both incidents, local law enforcement remains committed to transparency and public safety.
