Shreveport, Louisiana – Father and Son Arrested in Weapons and Drug Sting

The Shreveport Police Department’s Violent Crimes Abatement Team (VCAT) has successfully arrested a father and son duo in connection with a major firearms trafficking and marijuana distribution operation. The investigation targeted 22-year-old Valentine Carter Jr., who is suspected of being involved in illegal weapons trade.

Officers apprehended Valentine Carter Jr. at a residence on Short Leaf Drive, where they proceeded to execute a search warrant after obtaining sufficient evidence. All occupants of the home were detained during the operation, which was carried out in collaboration with several local law enforcement agencies, including the Shreveport City Marshal’s Office, SPD Warrants Unit, SPD Vice Unit, and the Office of Juvenile Justice.

During the execution of the search warrant, law enforcement officers discovered multiple firearms at the site. The recovered weapons included:

• Two 7.62x39mm semi-automatic pistols
• One .40-caliber semi-automatic pistol
• One 9mm semi-automatic pistol

In addition to the weapons, officers seized around 1,418 grams of marijuana and approximately 50 grams of THC-infused edibles. Authorities identified Valentine Carter Sr., 39, as actively involved in the marijuana distribution aspect of the operation.

Both men were booked into the Shreveport City Jail following their arrest.
