Help Let Louisiana Shine with Shreveport Green’s Citywide Clean-up
SHREVEPORT, La. – Shreveport Green is hosting a City Wide/Great American Cleanup for Love the Boot Week. Shreveport Green Executive Director Lauren Jones joined KTBS 3 Midday to share how everyone can help “Let Louisiana Shine.” The citywide clean-up initiative is a Keep America Beautiful and Love the Boot endeavor dedicated to revitalizing the state’s landscape. Through the concerted efforts of volunteers, Shreveport Green strives to enhance the cleanliness of the city by assigning teams to tackle areas grappling with persistent litter issues. Each participating team will be equipped with essential supplies including branded T-shirts, trash bags, and protective gloves.

Celebration
From 10 a.m. to noon, Shreveport Green will have free lunch plates and refreshments at the fairgrounds. At 11:30 a.m., winners of small and large groups that contributed the most (estimated) weight will be announced. Additionally, Shreveport Green is introducing a recycling award. Groups are urged to collect as many aluminum cans and plastic water bottles as possible in separate blue bags during their litter pickups. The group can earn the cash generated from all the recyclables donated.

- Bag your household trash before placing it in a covered can at the curb.
- Keep a litter bag in your car and boat.
- Use a portable ashtray.
- Keep your truck bed clean.
- Secure your load for safer, cleaner roads.
