Shreveport Business Supports Local Law Enforcement and Firefighters with Meal Donations

Shreveport Business Provides Meals for Law Enforcement, Firefighters

In an effort to show appreciation and support for local law enforcement and firefighters, a Shreveport-Bossier business has developed a tradition of giving back to these unsung heroes. Recently, the company embarked upon its 5th annual Feed the Cops event, with an aim to serve around 1,200 food plates to the men and women in uniform.

Business Joins Hands with Local Community

The event took place at the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office on June 26. The initiative, led by Shreveport business, Jett Business System, aims to offer meals to law enforcement officers and this year, it has also added the Bossier Fire Department to its list of beneficiaries.

Last year’s effort saw the company feed approximately 1,000 individuals, a number it hopes to surpass this time. The enthusiastic response from the community and the appreciative notes from the police department have encouraged the organizers to raise their goal for the present year.

“A Statement of Appreciation”

The owner of Jett Business System, Tim Jet, expressed his enthusiasm for the initiative. He stated responsibility to show support for the law enforcement community and a personal wish to express his own gratitude.

“I just think somebody needed to make a statement back five years ago when Covid was going on and police weren’t getting the respect they deserved, so it has helped,” Jet said. Respecting the challenging work done by the men and women in uniform, he added, “I’ll tell you everybody kind of counts on us coming over now, and they know what is going on. I’m hoping the word gets out and every time I can do this. If we serve 1,000 people today, I’ll get 3,000 thank you’s from them.”

Event Schedule

The philanthropic venture isn’t stopping at just one location. The team had plans to visit Bossier and Shreveport police departments the following day, continuing their mission to distribute meals and express appreciation towards the local law enforcement and fire departments. With efforts like these, they aim to strengthen the community bonds and acknowledge the dedication and contribution of these uniformed defenders to society.
