Shreveport, Louisiana – Multiple Shootings Leave One Dead and Several Injured

In a series of violent incidents taking place across Shreveport, Louisiana, one man has been confirmed dead, and several others have sustained injuries over the past weeks. The latest shooting occurred on July 11, 2025, at an apartment complex on Rasberry Lane, prompting a significant police response.

At approximately 7:45 p.m., the Shreveport Police Department dispatched at least eight units to the 6700 block of Rasberry Lane, which is situated between Financial Plaza and Five Oaks Drive, closely located to Interstate 20 and Huntington High School. Currently, there is no available information concerning potential injuries from this particular incident.

The recent violent streak follows a shooting that took place on June 28, 2025, in which a 23-year-old man named Zauntravious Davis was shot at the Lifestyle Apartments located in the 4200 block of Lakeshore Drive. After sustaining gunshot wounds, Davis was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:07 p.m. During the same incident, a 15-year-old male suffered a graze wound, and a 2-year-old female victim incurred a gunshot wound to her lower leg. Authorities are currently engaging in efforts to locate the suspect connected to this shooting, which marked Davis’ death as the 23rd homicide in Caddo Parish and the 18th in Shreveport for 2025.

The recent violence also includes a separate incident on July 5, 2025, when a 40-year-old woman named Corinthian Shepard was shot and killed at her home on North Windermere Drive. Shepard was pronounced dead at the scene, while a man found outside the residence with a gunshot wound to the head has since stabilized and remains under medical care. In connection with Shepard’s death, Richard Williams has been arrested and charged with second-degree homicide, contributing to the increase in homicides in the city this year.

On July 16, 2025, another shooting incident occurred when a female driver was shot in the torso while sitting at an intersection on Hearne Avenue and Milam Street. This remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the circumstances surrounding these attacks.

Adding to the urgency of addressing gun violence in the area, the Louisiana Second Circuit Court of Appeal recently upheld several second-degree murder convictions linked to different cases, including that of Joshua Palmer connected to the shooting death of Dominique Roland in May 2021. Although Palmer’s life sentence was affirmed, procedural issues resulted in his 19-year sentence for firearm possession being sent back for resentencing.

The recent surge in gun violence highlights a pressing concern within the community as officials grapple with how to ensure safety and justice amid increasing crime rates. The local police continues to conduct thorough investigations into these shootings while the community seeks clarity and security following these tragic events.
