Shreveport, La., is buzzing with excitement as four of the five candidates who are running for the newly created 6th Congressional District recently made their way to town for a special event. On October 2, the Greater Shreveport Chamber is set to unveil a series of video interviews with these candidates, aimed at giving voters a closer look at their priorities and perspectives on issues that matter right here in our community. With the election taking place on November 5, now is the perfect time to get familiar with who’s running and what they stand for!
A New District and New Opportunities
For those who may not know, the 6th Congressional District has been newly formed and includes several areas of Caddo Parish, along with parts of the City of Shreveport. This new district gives local voters an exciting opportunity to choose their representative in Congress.
The Greater Shreveport Chamber took the initiative to bring together the candidates and facilitate interviews, aiming to help voters make informed decisions. “While the Chamber does not take a position on candidates for office, we believe that an informed and educated electorate is vital to the robust exercise of our democracy,” a representative shared.
