The Shreveport Police Department (SPD) reported that the incident began when a blue Dodge Ram truck was traveling westbound on I-220 under rainy conditions. The truck lost control, hydroplaned, and crossed the median, subsequently striking a guardrail. Following the initial impact, the Dodge Ram veered into the eastbound lanes of I-220 where it collided with an oncoming vehicle.

The second vehicle, which was struck by the Dodge Ram, continued moving across the median, ultimately crashing into a concrete barrier. As a result of the severe collision, the Dodge Ram ended up overturned on the eastbound shoulder, illustrating the significant violence of the crash.

Emergency responders from the Shreveport Fire Department arrived at the scene to assist victims. They had to extricate the driver of the second vehicle from the wreckage.
