A Rich History of ArtBreak

Established in 1984, ArtBreak was created in response to significant funding cuts that threatened art education in Caddo Parish Public Schools. The festival was built on a collaborative effort involving school administrators, teachers, students, parents, and community leaders all committed to promoting and preserving arts education for future generations.

Over the years, ArtBreak has grown to not only encompass visual arts but has also expanded to include musical performances, culinary arts, film projects, and fashion shows, all aimed at encouraging students to dream, discover, and do throughout the festival activities.

As the community prepares to celebrate student creativity and artistic expression at ArtBreak 2025, Shreveport stands ready to embrace the vibrant talent emerging from its classrooms, fostering a love of the arts for audiences of all ages.
