Full Music Lineup Revealed
The highly anticipated 48th Annual Red River Revel Arts Festival in Shreveport, Louisiana, has unveiled its full music lineup, promising an eclectic mix of national, regional, and local artists across various genres and styles for all ages. The festival is set to take place at Festival Plaza in downtown Shreveport from Sept. 28 to Oct. 6.
Poster Artwork by Jason Rodriguez
During a press conference on Tuesday, June 11, Executive Director of Red River Revel, Logan Lewis, announced the official poster artwork for the 2024 festival. The artwork, created by New Orleans-based artist Jason Rodriguez, features vibrant colors and symbols inspired by the Dia de los Muertos traditional Mexican holiday, with a Louisiana twist.
Rodriguez commented on the piece, stating, “The ‘Spirit of Louisiana’ piece was inspired by the rich history, vibrant culture, and breathtaking beauty that surrounds us in the South. Drawing from the Spanish influence and iconic imagery of the region, we aimed to create a dreamy landscape that captures the essence of our art.”
Headliners and Artists
The lineup for this year’s Red River Revel includes some notable headliners such as classic Rock band Jefferson Starship, country artists Frank Foster, Chapel Hart, Trea Landon, TK Soul, LJ Echols, Dylan Leblanc, and Dan Smalley, as well as bands like Las Cafeteras and Lost Bayou Ramblers.
Jefferson Starship will be part of their 50th-anniversary world tour, featuring songs from their extensive catalog as Jefferson Airplane and Starship. Lewis expressed excitement about the band’s performance, mentioning, “I couldn’t believe how lucky we got… we are catching the band right before they head off to tour Europe.”
New Festival Offerings
In addition to the impressive music lineup, this year’s Red River Revel will introduce new partnerships and offerings to enhance the festival experience. Attendees can look forward to an all-new coffee and cocktail bar, updated VIP hospitality opportunities, and a new transportation option.
One of the notable additions is the introduction of pedicab rides, available for a fee, to transport festivalgoers to various locations in downtown Shreveport throughout the event. Lewis highlighted the initiative, stating, “This is a new initiative we’re bringing to the festival to provide better transportation options within the parking lot and around downtown.”
