SHREVEPORT, La. – Crawfish enthusiasts in Shreveport are gearing up for the 40th anniversary of the annual Mudbug Madness festival, set to take place in downtown Shreveport’s Festival Plaza from May 24 to May 26.
The Rise of Mudbug Madness
What started as a humble street festival in 1984 has evolved into one of Louisiana’s premier Cajun gatherings, drawing crowds from near and far to celebrate the beloved crustacean. This year’s event promises to be bigger and better than ever, offering attendees a taste of delicious crawfish and other mouthwatering fare from a variety of vendors.
Entertainment Galore
Music lovers will be in for a treat with performances from 30 bands on two stages throughout the festival. Headliners such as Cowboy Mouth, Dwayne Dopsie, Reed Foley, Sammy Kershaw, and Terrance Simien are sure to provide a toe-tapping good time for all attendees. Admission is free until 5 p.m. on Friday, with a $10 fee per person or $15 for a three-day pass for the remainder of the weekend.
